It’s certainly been a while in the making, but finally the X2 Design website is up and running. No more embarrassing ‘Site Under Construction’ splash page! Packed full of work samples and plenty of blurb about who we are and what we do, you can finally check us out online at x2.com.au
Naturally the interface was designed by the X2 team - plus our resident propeller head Damo has done some very fancy footwork behind the scenes coding it all together. He’s even custom built a CMS, to help the non-techy types at X2 keep the site regularly updated.
As an addition to the site launch, we are also making our clients aware of the X2 Design Email Campaigner. This is our solution to producing cost effective online email newsletters and advertising campaigns. As well as the X2 eNewsletter you are reading right now, you can check out samples of other eNewsletters and eCampaigns we’ve developed in the Digital section of our website.
From the extremely broad range of projects on our new website, you’ll see there’s not a lot we haven’t tackled at X2 Design over the years. Take a look and keep us in mind for your next project.

Chartered Accountants are not usually an exciting bunch. But even they realise a strong visual identity says many a positive thing about an organisation to existing and potential clients.
With this in mind X2 Design helped move Newell Lock & Co from ‘boring last millennium’ to ‘now and happening’ - truly reflecting the nature of their business as accountants to the stars!
X2 developed stellar new stationery and signage for Newell Lock & Co - and is in the process of building a new digital presence to help clients interact more closely with the firm.

Ever wondered who designs and creates those forms you fill out when making an insurance claim? No of course you haven’t. What kind of weirdo would ponder such a thing?
Just say though, for arguments sake, you did need a form - one that was easy to follow, could be filled out online or heaven forbid, with a pen - you might consider giving us a call.
At X2 Design we’ve just completed a wide range of print and digital forms for Chubb Insurance. The things designers get excited about. Go figure.

Many years ago in an enthralling episode of the Brady Bunch, Greg got into a band that was a copy of the Monkees. Of course it all went pear shaped and in the end he fessed up to Mike and Carol that the only reason he got in was because he fit the jacket!
Well it appears that’s been the case with big Mike featuring on the latest range of City Club posters – he fit the pants and was smack bang in the target market age group.
So on with the strides and in front of the camera he went – with none other but fashionista extraordinaire Richard Blackman styling the big bloke. A lot of retouching later City Club had a set of Godzilla sized in-store posters. Mike’s going to have to work extra hard to fit the pants next season.

What does Mike Randall do when he’s not at X2 Design creating? He’s off somewhere creating something else. Two years and nine months since Mike first received plans from France to build a seven metre long wooden boat (that’s 22 feet for oldies like us), his project is complete.
Since 2008, Mike has spent every Tuesday and Thursday night and every Saturday alone in a frosty in winter/sweltering in summer warehouse - crafting, building, planing, shaving, sanding, nailing, painting and oiling his coastal cruiser.
A strange name Stirven - that’s the type of boat Mike’s made. As far as we know it’s the very first one ever to be built in Australia. And what a beauty she is. Handcrafted from jarrah, marine ply and oregan leftovers from a construction site, Mike’s Stirven is a stunning example of a traditional boat. The cream sails have been custom made, so too the trés chic stripy spinnaker - and the gorgeous royal blue mattress for the sleeping cubby.
After spending almost 400 days and nights away from home to build his dream, what does a man name his boat? A wise man names it after his wife.
And so, on a beautiful winter’s day on Port Phillip Bay, the Vikki Bee was launched. Twas a huge success. Veuve Cliquot fizzed over the bow and once out on the sparkling water the little boat sailed a treat. This is not the end, just the beginning really of Mike’s romance with the Vikki Bee. Stay tuned for news of the official party.
